Tinnitus Home Remedies

If you're one of the 50 million Americans who have tinnitus (or have had tinnitus in the past), and you weren't "lucky" enough to have your tinnitus caused by a treatable medical condition, this article is for you.

What do you do when your doctor tells you there isn't much medically he can do for your tinnitus? There are a few drugs you can take, pills with the active ingredients Tocainid, Carbamazepin or Gabapentin in them. But there's no scientific evidence that  these drugs offer  long-term relief from the noises in your ears. There is also no scientific evidence that antidepressants, Transcranial, magnetic stimulation or the Retraining-Therapy have positive effects either.

Are you one of the 10 million tinnitus sufferers in the U.US. whose tinnitus is so severe that normal, restful sleep is only a dream? And, other daytime activities are so reduced in joy that  life isn't much fun anymore?

Even though modern medical science may have limited relief for you, Tinnitus home remedies have begun to emerge as leading treatments for the symptoms of tinnitus – whooshing, whistling, roaring noises that emanate from inside the ear. I'm not talking about vitamin pills masquerading as tinnitus cures or other forms of quackery – I believe that although, there is no cure for tinnitus, there are definitely methods to turn your tinnitus into something more bearable, and perhaps, a part of your life you can ignore for a while.

Here are a couple of home remedies that caught my eye the other day. The reason I've included them here is that each one has some common-sense and practical  possibilities. Granted, although all tinnitus home remedies may not work equally as well for all people, I figure that  most people will be able to get some relief  through at least one home remedy. Here's at least two of them;

Now, for sure, please do take the above ideas with a grain of salt, for there is absolutely no scientific proof that either suggestion has any benefit for tinnitus sufferers. In fact, there may be more harm than good if the herbs are used in excess – there is certainly evidence that ginkgo-biloba can be toxic in high doses. But, when considering tinnitus home remedies, always remember that if you THINK it may work for you, then it just may provide some relief (whether or not there is any positive scientific evidence at all).
